Following the injury suffered by forward Patrik Laine, which appears to be very serious, the faces were long among the Montreal Canadiens ' management.

As you surely already know, very early in the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, live from the Bell Centre, Laine remained on the ice after a "knee-on-knee" collision with Cédric Paré.

Laine left the ice and was unable to put any weight on his leg.

See the reactions of Martin St-Louis and Jeff Gortonn

As you can see in the video below towards the end, Marty and Gorton's reaction says it all...

Martin St-Louis seemed as affected and discouraged as all of us after that terrible sequence involving Patrik Laine.

As for Jeff Gorton, he seemed to be at a loss for words (once again, like all of us).

The next question is this: how long before we see Patrik Laine in uniform again?

On that topic, doctor has weighed in on the potential length of Laine's absence:

This is a situation we are closely monitoring.

At this point, we're just hoping for a small miracle, especially because Patrik Laine was working so hard to have a great first season in Montreal.

He was constantly the first to jump on the ice before practices and consistently among the last to leave. Yes, he had an exemplary work ethic, and yes, he was on a mission.

We send him tons of positive vibes during this surely very difficult time for him.
