A huge blow hits the Lightning: two more serious injuries announced in addition to the one suffered by Andrei Vasilevskiy
In the last few minutes, and a few hours after the major announcement regarding the surgery of star goaltender Andre Vasilevskiy, the Tampa Bay Lightning has just announced two more long-term injuries.
Let's first recall that indeed yesterday, very big news broke just a few days before the start of the NHL season.
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced that goaltender Vasilevskiy has undergone back surgery and will miss about 10 weeks of activity, at a minimum.
Now today, they announce that two more players from their roster have suffered serious injuries.
The 11th overall pick in 2016, Logan Brown, a big forward standing at 6 feet 6 inches, is seriously injured and will be out indefinitely.
There is also Roman Schmidt, who was going to make the jump to the professionals, who is also seriously injured and will be out indefinitely.
Of course, the major loss remains Vasilevskiy, but knowing how the Lightning has no cap space, no flexibility, and no depth, we are certainly talking about two notable injuries here (especially in the case of Brown).
The season is off to a bad start in Tampa Bay. And let's not forget all the drama surrounding the Steven Stamkos situation.
