During a recent Montreal Canadiens game against the Colorado Avalanche, we told you about it earlier this week, but we witnessed a disturbing and controversial battle.
Why was it a disturbing and controversial battle?
Simply because young Byram is very fragile.
Despite his young age, he came very close to retiring, very prematurely, from hockey this past summer due to concussions.
He has several to his credit. (and serious concussions)
Byram is probably only one blow to the head from being in serious trouble (and having to end his career) It could also have catastrophic consequences on his health.
Anyway, following this, there was a lot of reaction, and Pezzetta was keen to come out publicly to talk about it.
As reported by TVA Sports Network, Michael Pezzetta made a point of publicly apologizing for his fight with Byram:
"[Pezzetta] went to see
Artturi Lehkonen after the game so he could pass the message to Byram," Marc-Andre Perreault told the La Dose podcast.
"The last thing I wanted was for a player like me, to hurt a star player," mentioned Pezzetta whose explanation was reported by Perreault.
Hats off! Pezzetta did not necessarily hit Byram's head, and he was absolutely not obliged to apologize, but he did.
That says a lot about the superb person he is.
