We just received very interesting information regarding young forward Ryan Leonard and the Montreal Canadiens, coming from Mathias Brunet.
As you know, many fans were unhappy with the selection of young David Reinbacher at the 2023 NHL Draft because they wanted Matvei Michkov.
However, according to what Mathias Brunet has just revealed, it has nothing to do with Reinbacher.
According to his information, even if the Canadiens had not selected the young defenseman, the choice would not have been Michkov.
Wow.
The Canadiens had Ryan Leonard and Dalibor Dvorsky ahead of Matvei Michkov on their final list

This changes everything.
Obviously, we understand that if Reinbacher had not been available, it would have been because he was picked in the top 4, and the Canadiens might have had the chance to select Leo Carlsson, Adam Fantilli, or Will Smith, but you get the point.
Leonard and Dvorsky were ahead of Michkov on the final list.
