The player targeted by Kent Hughes in the first round has just been identified
We're coming back one last time to the very important article published by Alexandre Gascon from Radio-Canada, earlier today.
In addition to having revealed this:
He mentioned that the chances of seeing the Montreal Canadiens draft Matvei Michkov would be very slim.
That said, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton would apparently have targeted a specific player, and that explains exactly why they want to make a trade with the San Jose Sharks to move up into the top-4.
This targeted player is, you guessed it, Will Smith!
"Right now, the Canadiens are doing everything they can to try to move up to fourth. They are very aggressive. Is it because of Will Smith? Maybe."
An informed scout adds this:
"I wouldn't be so surprised. It would make sense given Kent Hughes's relationship with Will Smith."
He adds that if they make the trade (the Canadiens), it's because they are sure that the Sharks will draft Will Smith.
"It would be surprising, but it must be for Smith."
Long live the season of rumors leading up to the draft. We are about two weeks away from the much-anticipated D-Day.
