In the last few minutes, the Edmonton Oilers organization has announced a special signing, which is definitely out of the ordinary.

Freshly acquired from the New York Rangers, Jayden Grubbe has just signed with Edmonton.

Interesting fact. If Grubbe hadn't signed today (deadline), his June would have been completely different.

A prospect eligible for the 2023 draft

Indeed, Grubbe would have been eligible to be drafted in the 2023 National Hockey League draft, in less than a month!

In the end, Grubbe knows his fate in advance, and the other teams in the NHL have to remove him from their draft lists.

He has already found a taker!

Grubbe, 20, is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed center who racked up 67 points in 64 games this season in the WHL (18 goals), in addition to adding a solid 16 points in 12 playoff games.

According to experts, he would have been drafted around the middle of the next draft.

Congratulations to him on his first professional contract!

More details to follow.
