Believe it or not, we are already in the month of May, and that obviously means that the highly anticipated date of the "Connor Bedard lottery" is fast approaching.
To build excitement and prepare its fans, the Montreal Canadiens organization has just released an official statement related to this famous lottery.
"Knock on wood: the NHL Draft Lottery is less than a week away!" - Montreal Canadiens
Here is an excerpt:
"The Canadiens will find out if they get the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, or 7th overall pick on May 8th at 7 pm. The Canadiens have an 8.5% chance of getting the first overall pick this summer in Nashville.
Feeling lucky? Here's a brief reminder of how the lottery works:
Since 2021, the NHL has been drawing lots for the first two ranks only, rather than the top three, as was the case before;
As of 2022, teams can move up a maximum of 10 spots if they win one of the two lotteries;
Clubs can win the lottery a maximum of two times over a five-year period.
These news bode well for Canadiens fans, as according to the latest rules, the team remains eligible to win the Draft jackpot."

We are extremely excited and it's really enjoyable to see the Canadiens organization starting to set the stage for this important lottery.
You can even test your knowledge now with the Canadiens' official Draft Simulator for a chance to win a cap signed by last year's first-round picks Juraj Slafkovsky and Filip Mesar!
