A Major Trade Proposal has Just Been Put Forward, and it Involves the Canadiens, the Rangers, and Alexis Lafrenière
In the last few minutes on BPM Sports, host and former Montreal Canadiens player Georges Laraque put forward a major trade proposal.
It involves Alexis Lafrenière, the New York Rangers, and the Montreal Canadiens.
Despite his extremely disappointing playoffs (no points and no impact in the games), Laraque would give a lot to acquire Lafrenière:
"Despite Alexis Lafrenière's disappointing playoffs, Georges Laraque would not hesitate to trade the sixth overall pick to get his hands on the forward." - BPM Sports
Wow. He wouldn't even hesitate!
Personally, unfortunately, even though we love Lafrenière, we don't agree with him.
We can't give up a Matvei Michkov, a Zach Benson, or a Will Smith for a player who unfortunately doesn't seem to be progressing.
Even though some are already talking about a "flop" in Lafrenière's case, we believe it's too early, and we would be in favor of acquiring him in Montreal, but not for the sixth overall pick.
