Matvei Michkov traded right after the NHL draft? His trade value will be incredible
Among the many speculations and rumors that have surfaced in recent weeks, we've just seen a new one that is quite interesting.
Let's put this in the category of new ideas.
What if Matvei Michkov was traded the day after the 2023 NHL Draft, or simply put, after the draft?
In the Barbashev episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast, this was a possibility somewhat brought up by the excellent Jeff Marek.
Knowing that it's hard to talk to Matvei Michkov, knowing that he is a generational talent and knowing that his value will be much greater than the trade value of a Dalibor Dvorsky, why not just secure an "asset" of tremendous value?
For an organization like the Arizona Coyotes, not in a rush and ready to be very patient, this could really make sense.
"If you are the general manager of the Arizona Coyotes, how can you not draft Michkov? Regardless of the communications you have with him and his camp. You simply get your hands on incredible value. At the number six overall pick." - Jeff Marek
And Elliotte Friedman adds that it's a good theory.
To be continued, but the idea of drafting Michkov to secure incredible value is very interesting.
