Recently in an interview with the excellent Simon-Olivier Lorange, the captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki, agreed to discuss the 2023 NHL Draft, which will take place in Nashville.
Suzuki first confided that he will likely be present, on-site, to attend the event live from Nashville.
Defenseman Kaiden Guhle will also be on-site to see his brother-in-law being drafted (Riley Heidt, who is expected to be picked at the end of the first round).
Beyond all of this, Suzuki went further, and we love it:
Nick Suzuki followed with interest the recent NHL lottery which awarded the Canadiens the fifth choice in the upcoming draft. "We'll get a very good player," he says confidently. Right off the bat, he mentions the names of Will Smith, Matvei Michkov, and Leo Carlsson among those that excite him the most.
Via La Presse We are really starting to look forward to it anyway! It's in about a month, and names are circulating more and more!
It's worth what it's worth, but it's a pleasant surprise to see him openly naming Michkov.
It's true that getting hold of Smith, Michkov, or Carlsson would be extraordinary. Clearly, these seem to be the three names that catch the eye of the captain of the Montreal Canadiens.
