The Washington Capitals have just received big news, just hours before their game against Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens.

The player who has honestly probably been their best forward at 5-on-5 this season, Aliaksei Protas, will be returning to the lineup!
Head coach Spencer Carbery wasn't able to confirm the exact timing of Protas' return, but he did confirm that he will be back.
This will obviously be a huge boost for the Canadiens' opponents, and when we say huge, we mean it in every sense of the word.
"Spencer Carbery expects Aliaksei Protas to play, though he did not specify when."
- Stephen Whyno, Washington reporter
"Aliaksei Protas, out since suffering a skate cut above his left foot on April 4, is doing some light skating under the observation of Capitals trainer Jason Serbus."

Aliaksei Protas Set to Return as Reinforcements for the Washington Capitals Against the Montreal Canadiens

This will definitely be an added challenge for Martin St-Louis' squad.
Protas, 24 years old, is a 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward who has tallied 66 points in 76 games this season (30 goals), with 65 of those points coming at 5-on-5.
He has just one power-play point, which is truly impressive.
Protas ranks 9th in the entire National Hockey League in 5-on-5 scoring-pretty incredible.
He's ahead of names like Artemi Panarin, Mikko Rantanen, Mark Scheifele, Jack Eichel, and more.
He'll definitely be a player to watch when he returns to action, and that means a lineup change is on the way.. a very big one!
