Phil Kessel Destroys the Leafs After Winning Another Stanley Cup
Former Leafs player Phil Kessel will see his name engraved on the Stanley Cup for the third time in his career.
After the game, while everyone was celebrating on the ice, Kessel took a massive shot at the Maple Leafs, where he played from 2009 to 2015.
Kessel Slams Toronto Media
The 5th overall pick at the 2006 draft by the Boston Bruins arrived in Toronto with the label of being the team's savior.
Even though he scored 394 points in six seasons with the Leafs, the media claimed he couldn't win. However, after being traded to Pittsburgh, he won two Stanley Cups.
Now, with his third championship, he hasn't forgotten the Toronto media and took the opportunity to retaliate.
"You guys in Toronto said I couldn't win, but now I'm a three-time champ. It seems like it wasn't me. Think about that."
Although Kessel didn't participate in any of the final games, he still contributed to the team by being present and serving as a leader.
Let's hope that the Toronto media will learn from this and stop labeling players, as it can affect their performances.
