Former NHL referee Tim Peel is known for his controversial comments and opinions that he posts on social media. The former referee had to take a premature "retirement" because of a hot mic incident that occured in one of the games he officiated. Over the weekend, the former ref made comments that humiliated Maple Leafs fans.
Peel humiliates Leafs Fans in the funniest way
During the game between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs, Matt Rempe layed a controversial hit on newly acquired defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin, which caused fans demanding some disciplinary action for the Rangers rookie.
Tim Peel however, showed his defense for Matt Rempe across social media which completely turned off Leafs fans!

I am not at all. I don't know how this is spun out of control. All I said was Rempe's hit is not a penalty.

Thanks Dallas. I appreciate that. When a player throws a hit quite often his feet will leave the ice. I don't think this is the case in which he jumps at the Leaf player. But that's just my opinion.
In the end, Matt Rempe did not see any disciplinary action for his hit towards Ilya Lyubushkin.
Our respect for Tim Peel has risen drastically!
