Marner refuses to address the media after another game 7 loss
Toronto Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner refused to address the media after another game 7 loss last night.
Marner was widely criticized since the first game of the playoffs. Toronto media had no mercy for him and he failed to make a difference.
The Toronto Sun even called him the "invisible man":
Unfortunately, it didn't change for game 7. Marner was directly responsible for David Pastrnak's overtime goal. He let the Bruins' top forward skate right by him and easily managed to reach the net.
Watch the full sequence here:
Marner reached a new low on that play, but after the game, he showed that he could go even lower. With Morgan Rielly, he refused to meet with reporters after the loss, which is unnacceptable for a guy with a letter on his jersey.
All good leaders must be able to own their mistakes. He showed that he is not such a thing.
"Marner and Rielly not addressing the media after game 7 is a joke btw. 2 guys with letters make mistakes on the final goal and they can't even go out there and own it. Would not care if they were not back next year."
It looks clear that the loss, as well as the way he was treated by Toronto medias took a toll on Marner. He should get back in front of the cameras soon, when the Leafs hold their end-of-season media availability.
More to come.
