An NHL goalie suddenly announces retirement due to unsatisfactory offers
It was just announced that NHL goaltender, Thomas Greiss, suddenly announced his retirement.
He was reportedly disappointed with the contractual offers that were made to him, which led him to definitively end his career. It is rather rare to hear such transparency from an athlete.
The 37-year-old netminder played with the St. Louis Blues last season, his 6th team in the National League. He played 368 games with the Blues, the Red Wings, the Islanders, the Penguins, the Coyotes, and the Sharks, where he maintained an average of 2.77 and a save percentage of 0.911.
