They were together last night, which coincidentally comes the day after Bill Daly (Gary Bettman's right-hand man) made a statement indicating that expansions are «on the way» in the NHL.
Check out what Maxime Truman just reported in his latest article.
It's great news to see that the owners of the Montreal Alouettes and the Montreal Canadiens seem to be getting along and have a good relationship.
For those who believed that Geoff Molson was putting obstacles in the way of the Quebec Nordiques' return, one would imagine that «PKP» wouldn't be so cordial with the Montreal Canadiens' owner if that were truly the case.
I'm really curious about what Molson and Péladeau could have been discussing in that box.
The Quebec Nordiques? Upcoming French-language broadcast rights? The weather? I would have really liked to be a fly on the wall to hear what was said last night, but at the risk of repeating myself, all of this is positive for us!
Moreover, Max Truman has other hypotheses.
He believes that the heads of TVA Sports are close to the heads of the Montreal Canadiens, but he also believes that these discussions had nothing to do with the Quebec Nordiques.
Will this finally give Quebec a real chance now that Las Vegas, Seattle, and Salt Lake City have their teams? We certainly hope so, but some are already, unfortunately, talking about American expansions for Gary Bettman.
