Pittsburgh Penguins Release Statement Following Frightening Fan Incident at PPG Paints Arena

We witnessed an extremely frightening scene last night during the game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the St. Louis Blues.
As reported by several sources and spectators who were present at the arena, a fan fell from the second balcony (during the game) and was immediately taken to the hospital.
"At PPG Paints Arena where fan fell from section 234 - Witnesses say man tumbled over multiple rows, head went through glass & landed in section below. Then saw EMTs load on stretcher. County dispatchers confirmed 1 person taken to hospital."

"The City of Pittsburgh confirmed that a man seated in section 234 suffered a very high fall at around 7:15 p.m. The individual struck another person in the suite level before landing in the 100 level."

The Pittsburgh Penguins even issued the following official statement after the game:
"The Pittsburgh Penguins can confirm that an adult male fell from the upper concourse to the lower bowl at PPG Paints Arena earlier this evening. The individual was immediately attended to by Pittsburgh EMS as well as PPG Paints Arena personnel and has since been transported to a local hospital.
Although there is no further information at this time, the Penguins and OVG Management Group are closely monitoring the situation. Our concerns remain with the individual and his family at this time."

At this time, there are fears for the man's life, and our thoughts are strongly with him.
On the ice, the Pittsburgh Penguins continued their excellent start to the season, winning 6-3 over the St. Louis Blues.
In the victory, Bryan Rust, Erik Karlsson, and Sidney Crosby each recorded three points, while veteran Evgeni Malkin added one goal and one assist.
