We have two interesting news items to report in the NHL today.
The New Jersey Devils have indeed announced great news and a huge surprise to their fans and to fantasy hockey players.
Jack Hughes is indeed back in action!
"NEWS: We have activated center Jack Hughes from injured reserve. He will play tonight." - New Jersey Devils
The news many fans have been waiting for for a while!
Leon Gawanke placed on unconditional waivers by the Sharks
And the second news of the day concerns the NHL waivers.
"Leon Gawanke has been placed on unconditional waivers by the San Jose Sharks and will have his contract terminated." - Chris Johnston, Sportsnet
Gawanke, a 24-year-old German hockey player, has collected 27 points in 38 games this season in the AHL, and 45 points in 68 games last season.
He has been very productive in the American Hockey League, especially for a defenseman, but he wants his chance in the NHL so he will clearly be free as a bird.
He can be an interesting project, this young right-handed defenseman.
As for Jack Hughes, he is 22 years old and has accumulated 45 points in 32 games (15 goals) this season.
