The Montreal Canadiens organization have just signed a giant 6 foot 5 forward
The Montreal Canadiens organization has just announced the signing of a forward within its hierarchy.
For the Trois-Rivières affiliate, the Canadiens organization has indeed announced the signing of 6-foot-5 forward Cory Thomas, originally from Saskatchewan.
"Cory Thomas will be back with the Lions for a second season!
Being a pillar thanks to his defensive play and toughness, he will be a major asset for Ron Choules' defense!" - Trois-Rivières Lions
Welcome back, Cory!
Cory Thomas returns to the Canadiens' hierarchy
This is very good news for the Lions, who are adding toughness to their lineup. As for the Montreal Canadiens, it also adds nice organizational depth in this department.
At 26 years old, the former Utah Grizzlies and Idaho Steelheads defenseman amassed 9 points in 33 games last season. He clearly left a very good impression on Ron Choules and his men.
We might see him at the Laval Rocket training camp next September.
We are happy to see the Lions stay in Trois-Rivières and remain affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens, so it will be somewhat of a fresh start for them next season.
We can also expect Kent Hughes to send many promising young prospects there.
Details will follow.
