A few days ago, we looked back in a column on Juraj Slafkovsky's start to the season and his detractors who would have preferred the CH to select Logan Cooley in his place during the draft. At that time, few people thought that the 1st overall pick of the 2022 draft would surpass the one who had been selected in the 3rd rank.
A few months later, things have drastically changed. So much so that the colorful analyst was willing to make his mea culpa. During a recent intervention, he admitted he never thought the young Slovak would be capable of developing in such a way.
Even if we still have to wait to see Slaf's ceiling, we can say that the last few weeks have been good and especially very encouraging. The Slovak seems to have gained confidence and is on an excellent streak.
As for Cooley, he has accumulated 25 points, including 6 goals, in 51 games with the Arizona Coyotes. On his side, Slafkovsky now has 29 points, including 12 goals, in 54 games with the CH this season.
