The excellent Marco D'Amico has just reported major news regarding Montreal Canadiens' young forward Ivan Demidov.

Basically, following the coaching change over there and the arrival of Igor Larionov as head coach, SKA St. Petersburg wants to bring Ivan Demidov back into their system.

"New SKA head coach and NHL Legend, Igor Larionov, would like to have a conversation with the Canadiens about bringing back Ivan Demidov to the KHL next season on loan.

The Habs waited patiently to get Demidov to come this spring, so Larionov has his work cut out for him."

However, for this to happen, it would require a joint decision between SKA and the Montreal Canadiens, which is far from being finalized.
"I'd like to speak with the Montreal management. I'll be asking for him.»

"I'd like to have a conversation with the Canadiens. I'd be very interested in bringing this player back on loan for a year. Spending another season with SKA would be phenomenal. I don't know how realistic it is, but it never hurts to ask."

- Three-time Stanley Cup champion and the SKA head coach Igor Larionov said that Ivan Demidov could return to the team.
Important to note: this obviously doesn't mean it's going to happen, but be aware that SKA is working on it, and they've even gone as far as making a public statement to that effect.
Ivan Demidov, 19 years old, recorded 2 points in 2 games this season with the Canadiens, along with 2 more points in 5 NHL playoff games.
He also added 49 points in 65 games this season with SKA, plus 5 points in 6 KHL playoff games.
So, do you think it would be a good idea to give Ivan Demidov another development season in the KHL?
More details to come, but one thing's certain, Igor Larionov is currently on a mission to try and bring Ivan Demidov back to the KHL next season!
