A few hours after the Laval Rocket's elimination, journalist Marc Antoine Godin has just reported a rumor involving the Montreal Canadiens.

In his latest article, the Radio-Canada journalist shares a rumor currently circulating.
"There's also a rumor going around that goaltender Connor Hughes, defenseman Gustav Lindstrom, and forward Brandon Gignac will soon sign contracts in Europe."

As the journalist mentions, it's not surprising in the case of the first two, but it is more surprising in the case of Brandon Gignac.
"It's more surprising in Gignac's case, but justifiable given that he might have to settle for an AHL contract next season."

- Marc Antoine Godin

It's definitely something to keep an eye on!

Connor Hughes, Gustav Lindstrom, and Brandon Gignac Could Soon Sign in Europe and Leave the Canadiens Organization

If all of this is confirmed, we truly wish them the very best moving forward.
They were important players for the Laval Rocket and great role models for the organization's young prospects.
Now, it'll be up to those young prospects to step up and fill the void.
28-year-old goaltender Connor Hughes had a 15-12-2 record this season with the Rocket, along with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
27-year-old forward Brandon Gignac recorded 6 points in 15 games with the Rocket this season, after posting 55 points in 61 games last season.
26-year-old right-handed defenseman Gustav Lindstrom tallied 11 points in 42 games with the Rocket this season (6 points in 32 NHL games last season).
Update: It's now confirmed, Lindstrom is officially heading to Europe!
We'll keep you updated on the other two players as soon as we get confirmation.
