Former Habs Fan Favourite Sean Monahan Receives NHL Award in Emotional Scene Involving Gaudreau's Wife

The NHL has just released a beautiful video featuring Johnny Gaudreau's wife and forward Sean Monahan.
Some trophy presentations are more special than others, and I have to admit, this one will be extremely hard to top!
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sean Monahan, a former Montreal Canadien, has been awarded the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
"The Bill Masterton Trophy is awarded annually by the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA) to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey."

Some are even calling for the trophy to be renamed the Johnny Gaudreau Trophy, which, in my opinion, would be a fantastic idea!
Monahan received the award for the 2024-25 season, and none other than Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny Gaudreau's wife, was the one who both delivered the news and presented the trophy to him.
The two have become very close, which made this moment truly exceptional.
A moment of joy, sorrow, and deep emotion, unexpected yet beautiful, a true tribute to Johnny Gaudreau.
Sean clearly wasn't expecting it, and it turned into a surprise he'll never forget.

Despite losing his best friend just weeks before the season started, Monahan racked up an incredible 57 points in 54 games, including 19 goals, nearly leading the Columbus Blue Jackets to a miraculous NHL playoff berth.
