SKA Finally Agrees to Let Star Player Finish Season in NHL, Sparking Hope for Canadiens Fans
We have a very interesting development in the Ivan Demidov situation, who is the top prospect for the Montreal Canadiens.
In the last few hours, it was announced that SKA has finally agreed to let its best player, Alexander Nikishin, come finish the current season in the National Hockey League.
SKA has reached an agreement with the Carolina Hurricanes to that effect! Wow!
If SKA agreed to release Nikishin so he could come finish the season in the NHL, why wouldn't they do the same with Ivan Demidov?
In any case, it gives hope.
SKA finally agrees to let Alexander Nikishin come finish the season in the NHL: Ivan Demidov next?
This is definitely a major development for everyone hoping to see Demidov also come finish the season in the NHL.
Check out what was reported by the excellent Marco D'Amico:
"Alexander Nikishin's representatives and SKA Saint Petersburg (KHL) have reached an agreement that would allow him to leave the club earlier than expected to join the Hurricanes for the playoffs.
Nikishin, 23, has 17 goals and 46 points in 60 games with SKA St. Petersburg (KHL) this season.
He was drafted 69th overall by Carolina at the 2020 NHL Draft."
Nikishin is considered by most experts to be the best defensive prospect in the world. He tallied 46 points in 61 KHL games this season, and 56 points in 67 games last season.
He and Ivan Demidov are (statistically speaking) the two best players on SKA, but the defenseman is truly a pillar for them, as he consistently plays over 20 minutes a game-unlike, unfortunately, Demidov.
Do you believe Demidov will be the next to reach a similar agreement with SKA?
