Sam Montembeault reveals he stepped away from social media and explains why
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault made a sad confession today during a press conference.
He's had to immediately leave social media.
Samuel Montembeault reveals he is off social media
Sam Montembeault today on how he deals with the reaction from fans after a loss:
"Especially on social media, you gotta put that behind. I deleted my Instagram cause obviously after a loss, you can't go on it. Many things that are said aren't nice on there. You just gotta take all the noise and put it behind. Just trying to focus on me, focus on my game and not listen to what everybody has to say."
"Good games or bad games, people are always gonna have something to say. I just wanna focus on myself."
It's sad to see that Samuel has reached that point, to the point where he had to immediately quit social media.
It's the first time in his career he's had to take such a step.
I understand that people can respectfully criticize an athlete's performance - as many analysts do - but it obviously has to stay within reasonable limits!
I'll say it again and again: without Samuel Montembeault last season, there would have been no playoff run for the Montreal Canadiens, none!
In any case, I'm sure Monty will silence his critics very soon, and I'm confident he'll quickly return to being the goalie he was last season, before his injury.
