Another piece of bad news has been confirmed for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault.

His difficult start to the season is proving costly, as Sportsnet journalist Eric Engels has just revealed another name who seems to have "stolen" Montembeault's spot to represent Team Canada at the Olympics.

Darcy Kuemper has reportedly moved ahead of-or even pushed aside Samuel Montembeault in Canada's Olympic goaltending race

Such a shame!
It could still change, but the final selections are approaching quickly, and Team Canada's management has witnessed three very tough games from Montembeault in person.
Yes, Don Sweeney, Doug Armstrong, and Julien BriseBois were all at the Bell Centre last night.
"Darcy Kuemper was already ahead of Samuel Montembeault in the Olympic conversation, and both men further punctuated that reality on Tuesday night."

- Sportsnet
As Eric Engels mentions in his article, this is excellent news for Kuemper and a dream seemingly coming true for him-but it's sad news for Montembeault.
"It was a tough blow for the Canadiens, and it probably delivered the final blow to Montembeault's Olympic hopes, which were already on life support before Tuesday." - Engels

Ouch.
Darcy Kuemper, 35 years old, is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound goaltender with a 6-3-3 record this season with the Kings, a goals-against average of 2.40, and a save percentage of .908 (.922 last season).
Samuel Montembeault, 29 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 218-pound goaltender with a 4-4-1 record this season with the Canadiens, a goals-against average of 3.52, and a save percentage of .861.
And according to you, which of these two goalies deserves more to go to the Olympics to represent Canada?
