We just received a last-minute announcement from Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis.

We suspected it, especially following Samuel Montembeault's tougher performance last night, but Jakub Dobes will be the starting goaltender tomorrow night against the powerful Dallas Stars.

Martin St-Louis makes two changes, including one in goal, as Jakub Dobes immediately replaces Samuel Montembeault

That's what St-Louis confirmed during his press conference just moments ago.
"Martin St. Louis confirms Jakub Dobes will start in goal for Habs tomorrow night vs. Dallas."

- Stu Cowan
Samuel Montembeault, age 29, has a 4-4-1 record this season, with a goals-against average of 3.52 and a save percentage of .861.
Jakub Dobes, age 24, has a 6-0-1 record this season, with a goals-against average of 2.25 and an impressive save percentage of .920.
Do you agree with Martin St-Louis's decision?
As for the other change, note that if Nick Suzuki has to miss tomorrow night's game due to his lingering lower-body injury, Alex Newhook took center between Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky during today's practice in Brossard.
As we reported earlier today, captain Nick Suzuki missed yet another practice this morning. He is clearly not playing 100%.
"In Suzuki's absence, Newhook is taking reps at center between Caufield and Slafkovsky.

For those wondering: no, Ivan Demidov did not take Slafkovsky's spot on the first line this morning (as he did in the third period last night)."

- Marc-Olivier Cook

All the details are in the official release from the Montreal Canadiens (Lines and defensive pairings).
More details to come.
