Hockey community mourns the loss of 8-year-old Oakville Hornets player
The hockey world is one big family, and today, that family is in mourning.
As reported by Marco Normandin (HABSolumentFan), tragedy has struck the hockey community with the passing of little Melody Xu, an 8-year-old hockey player from Ontario who played for the Oakville Hornets.

"While she was walking along the street with her mother, a car struck them head-on.
The young girl passed away at the hospital, but her mother survived and is currently recovering from her injuries."

This is one of the saddest stories I've ever read-and certainly one of the most tragic to touch the hockey world in recent times.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to help the family cover funeral and legal expenses, and over $150,000 has already been raised.
It shows how deeply the entire hockey world, along with the Oakville community, has been affected by this tragedy.
