Sam Montembeault's Nightmare October Might Cost Him Even More Than You Think

I have a great deal of compassion for this, but the past few weeks have been incredibly difficult for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault.
As mentioned by the guys from Sportsnet 590 in recent days, Sam Montembeault has apparently also lost his ticket to participate in the prestigious Olympic Games.
An extremely sad month of October for Samuel Montembeault
At the start of this disastrous month for Sam, he was the undisputed number-one goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens and was practically guaranteed to represent Canada at the Olympics.
Today, he's likely lost both..
"Sam Montembeault, analytically, is the worst-ranked goalie in the league. [Jordan] Binnington's not far off. It's extremely thin." (for Team Canada in preparation for the Olympics).
Sadly, that appears to be true:
"Not only has he (Jakub Dobes) taken the net in Montreal, he's taken the olympics away from Montembeault."
Honestly, if you knew how much I wish Samuel an outstanding month of November - which he's absolutely capable of - so that he can leave this nightmarish October far behind him!
Five games should not erase everything Sam Montembeault has done for the Montreal Canadiens over the past few years!
Let's not forget, without Monty, Montreal wouldn't have had playoff hockey last spring. He deserves far more respect than this.
Dobes is a perfect 6-for-6 this season, posting a 1.97 GAA and a .930 save percentage. Meanwhile, Sam has two wins in five games with a 3.81 GAA and an .842 save percentage. Still, numbers don't tell the whole story, Montembeault has bounced back before, and he'll have every chance to prove himself again soon.
