The Jacob Fowler situation seems much more complicated than expected for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
At first, we expected Fowler's signing to be just a formality, and we were anticipating a quick announcement, but since then, there have been a few twists.
First, Fowler is taking his time to sign.
And today, thirdly, Pierre LeBrun has shared a new update.
Reassuring update from Pierre LeBrun regarding Jacob Fowler and the Montreal Canadiens
Check out what he just posted.
"No reason for Habs fans to be stressing about not having a Jacob Fowler decision yet.
I think it's unlikely he stays in school for another year. Likeliest option is to join AHL Laval for rest of the season.
But with Laval out West right now, there's no urgency."
- Pierre LeBrun
Thanks to Pierre LeBrun for this nice little update.
So, it seems unlikely that Fowler won't sign with the Canadiens this season, and it also seems unlikely that he'll return to the NCAA next year.
"Update on the Jacob Fowler situation!
Pierre LeBrun mentions here that it's unlikely Jacob Fowler will remain in the NCAA next season.
According to him, the most likely option would be for Fowler to join the Rocket for the rest of the season."

Jacob Fowler, age 20, has a record of 25-7-2 this season, with a goals-against average of 1.63 and a save percentage of .940 in the NCAA.
The 6-foot-2, 214-pound goalie doesn't have much left to prove in the college ranks, if you ask me.
