We have just learned that two players are leaving the Montreal Canadiens, as Kent Hughes starts making his decisions.
As we reported over the weekend, it is officially over for former first-round pick Colin White within the Canadiens organization, as he will not be returning next season.
But that's not all.
Lias Andersson leaves the Montreal Canadiens and the Laval Rocket
It is indeed another former first-round pick who is now leaving the Canadiens organization.
A team from Switzerland has just announced his acquisition and signing.
Thus, this is how it ends for Andersson with the Montreal Canadiens, after only one season, a season during which he accumulated 45 points in 53 games with the Laval Rocket (in the AHL).
He has always been an excellent American Hockey League player, but he never managed to establish himself in the NHL.
Moreover, he ultimately did not play a single regular-season game with the main team in Montreal.
Andersson, 25 years old, was the 7th overall pick by Jeff Gorton and the New York Rangers in 2017 (first round) and has accumulated 17 points in his NHL career.
More details to follow.
