We just had a new twist in the NHL trade market, just days before the 2024 draft, and it's interesting for Kent Hughes.

Renowned journalists David Pagnotta and Anthony Di Marco have just reported a big scoop.

The Utah hockey team places the 6th overall pick on the trade market: a new option for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

This information has just been confirmed. Wow.

Let's remember that some analysts recently suggested that the Canadiens could make a trade with Utah for the 6th overall pick, allowing them to draft 5th and 6th overall.

This could allow Montreal to draft, say, Ivan Demidov AND Cayden Lindstrom, which could obviously be superb. (or Ivan Demidov AND Tij Iginla/Sam Dickinson)

Let's also recall Mathias Brunet's proposal.

Personally, we wouldn't make this trade. We wouldn't give up Cole Caufield for the sixth overall pick, but it would be interesting to see if there's something else that could interest Utah.

Imagine drafting twice in the top 6!

«As we discussed, Utah is willing to trade the 6th overall pick in this month's NHL draft.» - David Pagnotta

No kidding, things could really heat up during the 2024 draft, and the show could be very interesting in Las Vegas.

We now have the 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th overall picks available on the trade market.
