Josh Anderson Dealing With Discomfort and Clearly Not at 100%
The Montreal Canadiens are indeed currently dealing with an injury on offense.
It's an injury to Josh Anderson, which is not expected to cause him to miss any games for now, but I thought it was important to mention it nonetheless.
It has been more than a week since Anderson has been practicing, or nearly, and he's been struggling with pain on the bench for a few games. It's been a while since he's been playing while clearly injured.
Despite everything, Anderson continues to give his best effort to help his team.
Josh Anderson is injured
We don't know exactly what he has, but it was definitely worth mentioning!
For now, Anderson is still playing excellent hockey, and that is to his credit, but we'll all have to keep this in mind if he goes through more difficult games.
Josh Anderson is in rough shape. He was seen writhing in pain on the bench yesterday. No one can ever fault him for giving his all to help his team. A true warrior.
Anderson is currently playing at far less than 100%.
He is possibly at 60 or 70% of his abilities right now.
It's very rare to see players do that during the season (playing while injured).
We see it more often in the playoffs, but I think this says a lot about the teammate and athlete that Josh Anderson is.
His work is recognized, and it's beautiful to see, so much so that he's just been promoted to the Canadiens' second line.
Considering that he is able to play tonight, he will indeed be alongside Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, in place of Patrik Laine who has been demoted to his team's third line.
