In the last few seconds, RG Media has published an exclusive interview with Jeff Gorton of the Montreal Canadiens.
Gorton confirmed that he and Kent Hughes are still working hard on the trade market to potentially find an external solution, but he also named two players the team is already targeting internally.
Jeff Gorton names two players being considered by the Canadiens for the second-line center role next season
The first name is no surprise -
Kirby Dach - but the second one is a bit unexpected.
"Canadiens executive Jeff Gorton says the team is exploring options to improve center depth, but he believes internal solutions like Kirby Dach or
Alex Newhook could emerge."

Wow! So according to the Canadiens' management, Alex Newhook is seriously in the mix to start next season as the second-line center.
If we rule out the possibility of a trade, it looks like the decision will come down to Newhook or Dach.
It'll be something to keep an eye on in September!
Alex Newhook, 24 years old, recorded 26 points in 82 games this season, and 34 points in 55 games the previous season with the Montreal Canadiens.
Kirby Dach, also 24, registered 22 points in 57 games this season, and 2 points in 2 games last season with the Canadiens.
