Recently, on BPM Sports, former Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque criticized Arber Xhekaj's fighting technique.

He explains his point very clearly right here, and he really doesn't seem convinced by the new technique Xhekaj has been using, especially when initiating fights.
Until recently, we believed Laraque was actually Xhekaj's private coach for this very specific department, but it turns out that's no longer the case!

It's over: Georges Laraque is no longer Arber Xhekaj's private coach

This could explain a lot!
Here's what he revealed on BPM Sports in the last few hours:
"Some so-called experts in the media said that the guy who coaches Xhekaj how to fight should be fired.

They were basically insinuating that I'm Xhekaj's coach.

If I post videos - and I've done it a few times - of Xhekaj and I explain that he fights poorly and his technique isn't good, do you really think I'd be coaching him if I'm out here exposing that he fights badly?

Yes, in the past I coached him.

What happened is that after I trained Matt Rempe, I understand he didn't like that."

Wow!
Laraque even reveals that Xhekaj's new personal coach would be PJ Stock, another well-known name among Montreal Canadiens fans.
Clearly, Laraque is not a fan of the technique Xhekaj has been using lately, and it's hard to disagree with him.
But he's not the only one calling out Xhekaj. Many analysts believe Arber has 'lost his mojo' and his identity.
Let's hope Xhekaj finds his edge again soon; it's getting harder and harder to justify keeping him in the lineup.

Do you believe Arber Xhekaj is still among the five toughest enforcers in the NHL?
