Brad Marchand returns to the Bell Centre on Thursday, and Montreal has not forgotten.

Since yesterday, two strong messages have been circulating on social media ahead of the game between the Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens.
The date is set for Thursday, January 8, at the Bell Centre, and many already want to see him answer for it. What's fueling all of this is mainly what happened Tuesday in Florida. In overtime, Marchand hit Mike Matheson in the head along the boards.
He received a roughing penalty, then the Canadiens won 3-2 on the power play, with Nick Suzuki. The next day, the NHL announced neither a hearing, nor a suspension, nor even a fine.
For some fans, that's what bothers them the most.

In the hours that followed, Matheson did not play against the Carolina Hurricanes. Still, when an important defenseman is hit in the upper body, it can't go without consequences.
Marchand's past doesn't help calm things down either. We're talking about a player who has already been suspended eight times, even if he hasn't been suspended since 2022.
When a guy like that shows up in Montreal after a controversial hit, the atmosphere creates itself. On Thursday, he won't be welcomed with flowers, let's put it that way.
And in your opinion, does Brad Marchand have to answer for his action?
