Former Canadiens enforcer and BPM Sports analyst Georges Laraque mentioned that, in his opinion, Joshua Roy will not be with the Canadiens next year.

To be honest, I'm not so sure about all of this.
Since he was cut from training camp this season, it's true that his place with the Habs seems increasingly uncertain.
Yet, he performed well in his first NHL games, but he never managed to establish himself as a player who can secure a spot in the lineup.
In my opinion, it would be a shame to see him go. He has talent, he works hard, and he could still become a good NHL player.
But at the same time, if the Canadiens no longer believe in him long-term, could he be involved in a trade this summer?
That's what Laraque seems to think.

Joshua Roy's days in Montreal are numbered, according to Georges Laraque

Check out the clip in question here.
Georges Laraque think that since Joshua Roy lost his spot at the last camp, his days in Montreal are numbered, and he won't be back with the Canadiens next year.

"I think that after this year, we won't see Joshua Roy in Montreal anymore. He will become a trade asset, and they will move him.

There is no room for him with the Canadiens.

There are too many young players, and he's not someone I would make room for."

I think the decision will depend on what Kent Hughes wants to do with his group of forwards.
If the team adds a big offensive player like Mitch Marner, or if Ivan Demidov arrives in the NHL as soon as next year, it will make the competition even tougher for a guy like Roy.
We'll see if Laraque is right.. but in my opinion, Joshua Roy hasn't said his last word yet.
It will be interesting to follow his development in the coming weeks now that he has officially been called up by the big club.
And what do you think? Will Joshua Roy be traded by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens next summer?
Another source close to the organization also made a bold claim, stating that Roy's time in Montreal is nearing its end:
