Tragedy Strikes Young Hockey Player, His Family, and the Devils Organization
There are some stories that touch the entire hockey world. This is one that truly made me emotional and is currently shaking the New Jersey Devils organization.
As various media outlets are reporting, this tragic event occurred following the Devils' home game against the Winnipeg Jets on March 7.
During that game, two young fans were experiencing a special moment, having treated themselves to their dream night by attending the game. They were die-hard Devils fans.
However, what happened next is far more heartbreaking.
Two young fans, Evan Fiore and Kiley Armstrong, lose their lives returning from a New Jersey Devils game
Some stories capture the imagination, but in such an incredibly tragic way.. Stories we can all relate to (since almost all of us have attended a hockey game that made us so happy). Well, this is undoubtedly one of them.
On the night of the game, around 11 p.m., this young couple tragically lost their lives in a car accident while returning from the matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the Winnipeg Jets.
This young hockey player and this young woman had their entire lives ahead of them.
Here is an excerpt from a post shared on various social media platforms covering the New Jersey Devils:
"Rest in peace, Evan Fiore and Kiley Armstrong, an innocent young couple and die-hard Devils fans who were struck by a group of reckless teenagers Friday night in Toms River as they were heading home from the Jets/Devils game.
Last Friday night, March 7, just before 11 p.m., a group of ignorant teenagers, including an unlicensed driver exceeding 110 MPH, recklessly drove through a red light on Route 37/166, crashing into another vehicle at high speed, killing the driver, 23-year-old Evan, and the passenger, 21-year-old Kiley, on the spot, while also critically injuring the two rear passengers, Krista (Kiley's twin sister) and her boyfriend Ryan."
The two survivors remain in critical condition, but fortunately, they are expected to pull through.
We send them positive thoughts and offer our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones.
This is an immeasurable tragedy.
