We have updates today, live from the Montreal Canadiens' morning skate.

As Martin St-Louis' squad prepares to face Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers tonight at the Bell Centre, we have some good news.

Patrik Laine, Brendan Gallagher, David Savard, and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard are all on the ice

Clearly, reinforcements are on the way for the Canadiens. Check out the latest updates:

Patrik Laine and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard are also back on the ice this morning. In Laine's case, the training focused on changes in direction and shot accuracy with Adam Nicholas.

It's especially great news to see that Savard is already back at practice, considering his unexpected absence just minutes before Saturday night's game (when he was supposed to play).

As for Harvey-Pinard, it really feels like he's close to returning to action. Don't be surprised if he's sent down to the Laval Rocket for a few games this week to regain his «game shape.»

Let's also remember that Gallagher seems to be dealing with a minor issue. He received treatment over the last few days but appears ready to play tonight.

Finally, in Laine's case, he's participating in his first «game day» practice today, which clearly brings him closer to a long-awaited return. However, don't expect him back in the lineup tonight. Still, it must be very motivating for him to take part in a morning skate just hours before a game.

Clearly, significant reinforcements are on the way for Martin St-Louis' squad!

It couldn't come at a better time, as the climb will be very steep if the Canadiens want to get «back in the mix» this season.

Further details to come.
