Florian Xhekaj reveals his new nickname and it's as good as Arber
Earlier this month, the Montreal Canadiens organization offered an NHL entry-level contract to the young Florian Xhekaj.
His younger brother, Arber, also signed a tryout contract with the Laval Rocket to finish the season.
Following his first media exposure, the 19-year-old forward revealed a piece of information that will surely make headlines, namely his nickname.
While his older brother is nicknamed The Sheriff, he claims his nickname in Junior was The Deputy.
The nickname is simply perfect. Just imagine if the two brothers play together one day how The Sheriff and The Deputy could lay down the law!
The young man, standing 6 feet 4 inches tall, has made significant progress this season with the Brantford Bulldogs in the OHL. After a 25-point season in 2022-2023, he accumulated 65 points, including 34 goals, in 63 games this season. It will be interesting to see what he can do against men in the AHL in the coming days.
