According to goalie Louis Domingue, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens may have just acquired a top 6 NHL forward.

The goalie has high hopes for Alex Barré-Boulet, the Canadiens' latest acquisition, and it's hard to blame him because the former Seattle Kraken and Tampa Bay Lightning forward has already proven he's far too strong for the AHL.

We're talking about 19 points in 23 games, 84 points in 69 games, and 63 points in 58 games over his last three seasons.

Alex Barré-Boulet, a top 6 talent in the National Hockey League

He definitely seems to have the profile of a player with the talent to be a top 6 NHL player.

«He's an offensive player. He's really on the line between a top 9 NHL player or a top AHL player, which he's been for several years now.» - Anthony Marcotte

«That's it! The problem is, he has all the talent to be a top 6 NHL player, let's say it, but sometimes for guys like that, it's hard to displace other players.» - Louis Domingue, who adds that Barré-Boulet is not really a fourth-line player.

So, it will be a really interesting case to follow next September.
