Cole Caufield would have just completely changed his mind
The young forward of the Habs, Cole Caufield, would have just completely changed his mind following the statements of the general manager.
A few days ago, as reported by Charles-Alexis Brisebois, Caufield had declared this when asked if he was going to play for Team USA at the World Championship.
"I'm keeping it in mind. Let's finish the season here and we'll see." - Cole Caufield
He really didn't seem like a player who was going to go, even if he didn't completely close the door.
However, after this statement from Caufield, the CH's number 22 forward learned that the general manager of Team USA, Bill Guérin, considers that a player who wants to participate in the big four-nation tournament, or the Olympics, would do well not to say no to the United States, this spring.
Well, well!
Cole's response has changed, thereafter.
And now, his answer has changed. Even Arpon Basu noted how quickly he changed his mind, in his article.
"It's something I've always wanted to do. Maybe it will be this year." - Cole Caufield
It will therefore be interesting to watch, but don't be surprised if Cole Caufield dons the United States uniform in a few weeks, just as Samuel Montembeault did with Canada, last year.
It could increase his chances of being selected for the four-nation tournament or for the Olympics.
