There's been a lot of talk about Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson, and rightfully so, but Christian Dvorak is also having an excellent end to the season for the Canadiens.

While his linemates have been doing incredible work and playing a big role in the team's recent success, Dvorak is right there with them.
Dvorak has recorded 10 points in his last 14 games, and 18 points over his last 28 games.
At the most important time of the season, he's really stepping up, averaging close to 16 minutes of ice time per game.

A new contract for Christian Dvorak with the Montreal Canadiens?

Who saw that coming?
Quietly, Dvorak's current contract, which pays him $4.45 million per year, is set to expire this summer, and it's starting to feel almost difficult to imagine him leaving so easily.
If Kent Hughes doesn't offer him a contract extension, he will indeed walk, and the Canadiens will lose him "for nothing" in July.
But what does the man himself think?
Dvorak, who is also the roommate and one of the best friends of Cole Caufield, surprised many by saying outright that he really wants to stay in Montreal.
"Christian Dvorak told me this morning that he definitely wants to stay in Montreal.

His play over the past few weeks has been the best he's shown since arriving here.

However, there will be a logjam up front for the Canadiens.

Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds."

Seeing how he's playing right now, would you like to see Kent Hughes offer Dvorak a short contract extension?

He definitely seems interested in staying! The ball is now in Kent Hughes' court.
Personally, I wouldn't be against the idea at all, but of course, it all depends on the price.
Dvorak, 29, recorded 30 points in 75 games this season, including 11 goals, and continues to be strong in the faceoff circle.
Over his NHL career, he has 246 points in 527 games.
