Big announcement involving the Canadiens and the Maple Leafs is confirmed
For the past few seasons, the Canadiens' rookies participated in a small tournament in Buffalo, facing off against the rookies from 3-4 other NHL teams.
According to Renaud Lavoie, this will not be the case next fall as the organization seems to have other plans for its prospects.
As the journalist mentioned Tuesday evening during the JiC show on TVA Sports, the Habs now plan to play two games at the Bell Centre against the Toronto Maple Leafs' prospects.

See his exact words.
«It's going to happen at the Bell Centre. There are going to be two games between the Canadiens' rookies and the Toronto Maple Leafs' rookies on September 14 and 15.
I think it's a good thing because I think there were a bit too many games played during the rookie tournament, and now you play two. You look at what you have to look at. On top of that, people will be able to come see extra games, which is always nice.» - Renaud Lavoie
Fans will therefore be able to see their favorite prospects in action with their own eyes and not on an arena stream as in previous years. It will be interesting to see how Owen Beck, David Reinbacher, Logan Mailloux, Lane Hutson, and the possible 5th overall pick in the next draft will fare against the Leafs' prospects!
