A journalist just announced an acquisition by Hughes that is an absolute steal
The renowned journalist Scott Wheeler, who is probably the best in his field for evaluating prospects, has good news for Canadiens fans.
According to him, Kent Hughes and Montreal made a very good move by acquiring forward Michael Hage with the 21st overall pick in the 2024 draft.
For obvious reasons, potential future star player Ivan Demidov is attracting all the attention following the selection session, but Hage is also a very good pick.
Michael Hage, a likely second-line player for the Montreal Canadiens?
Clearly, Wheeler has high hopes for Hage and believes that he is one of the top 15 players drafted in 2024.
«He is a very competitive young man. He has a good chance to become a second-line center, and if he doesn't, he will be a second-line winger. He is one of my favorite prospects in this class.» - Scott Wheeler
Wow, we love it!
He mentions that Hage has excellent skating, a good physique, a good shot, good game vision, and good hands, while adding that he is a young player with tremendous character.
Michael Hage, 18 years old, 6 feet 1 inch and 187 pounds, scored 75 points in 54 games last season, including 33 goals, with the Chicago Steel in the USHL.
An interesting fact: He also added 4 points in 1 game (2 goals - 2 assists) with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

« Si Michael Hage ne devient pas un centre de 2e trio, il sera un ailier de 2e trio »
