Last night, a former Montreal Canadiens prospect, Zach Fucale, got his first NHL start with the Washington Capitals. He even took advantage of the opportunity to collect a 21-shot shutout in a 2-0 win for his team.
The 26-year-old goaltender has come a long way, but the Capitals have believed in him since the beginning of their partnership in 2020.
Zach Fucale's father, Jack, didn't really feel that confidence when his son was playing for the CH, far from it. He was on 98.5 to talk about his offspring.
"The Canadiens have totally taken away his confidence. I don't want to get into that too much, because you all know that already. They made ZERO!"
You can sense some anger from Zach Fucale's father when he answered the question. He seems to have a little bitterness towards the CH organization. Stirring up the past seems to have shaken him.
Fucale has bounced back from this, obviously, as he has been very successful with the Capitals organization. He will need to be consistent if he wants to continue his stay in the NHL.
