Earlier this week, we learned that Alex Galchenyuk was released from his professional trial with the Colorado Avalanche very quickly. The former CH player was trying to prove to the NHL that he still had a business in this league, but he was cut before the main rounds of cuts.
The Avalanche had been tight-lipped about the reasons for the cut, until the club's head coach, Jared Bednar, really explained why the forward was no longer in the organization's plans. It seems that it's not because of a lack of talent, but because of an injury.
It will be interesting to see if the Avalanche will actually recall Galchenyuk when he gets better... It's a real shame for him anyway, this injury has possibly just cost him a lot of money financially, as he's going to remain a free agent, and without any contract in his pocket.
