Very disturbing scene live from Habs practice and a strange gesture from Cole Caufield raises many questions
Over the past few hours, we have witnessed a disturbing scene live from Anaheim at the Montreal Canadiens' practice.
First, see the video:
A lot to unpack here.
First, there's the unsettling moment where Brendan Gallagher and Johnatan Kovacevic come into quite solid and oddly enough, contact. It could have really hurt, especially since the team is already heavily battered by injuries.
Second, go back to the video and watch what happens next.
Personally, we don't make too much of it, but the little gesture made by Cole Caufield AND by Christian Dvorak is causing a lot of talk this morning.
"Caufield clearly losing patience with Gallagher, and Dvorak too. I don't like seeing this," writes a fan.
"Why is Caufield going after Gallagher afterward?," writes another.
"Both Caufield and Dvorak give a little crosscheck to Gallagher afterward. I don't like what's happening with this Habs team, it's a bit worrying."
Well, it's true that we can ask ourselves the question and it's true that it doesn't necessarily look good (quickly like that), but we really believe that we shouldn't worry too much about it.
It didn't seem like a little joke punch, but maybe it was.
In short, we mainly wanted to show the little worrying contact between Kovacevic and Gallagher. Both didn't seem to get injured on the play.
