For almost 24 hours, the inappropriate comments made on Twitter by the Utica Comets organization at the expense of Cole Caufield have caused a huge reaction. The Comets taunted the young Laval Rocket winger following their 4-2 win over the Rocket on Monday night, which the father of the player in question obviously did not appreciate at all.
The Vancouver Canucks' school club was criticized from all sides for unfairly attacking a young man lacking in confidence and even received a warning from the American League authorities.
It is with great humility that the president of the Comets, Robert Esche, called Caufield on Tuesday to apologize for this act unworthy of a professional sports organization.
In short, this little saga could well represent the beginning of a rivalry between these two teams, even if it is obvious that the person in charge of the Comets' Twitter account, if she still has her job, will not risk taking this kind of action.
