Trade Alert: Maple Leafs acquire Matt Murray to try to win a playoff round
It's been brewing for a while, but it's now confirmed!
The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Sens have just concluded a trade involving goaltender Matt Murray:
TO OTTAWA - Future Considerations
TO TORONTO - Matt Murray + 3rd round pick in 2023 + 7th round pick in 2024
*Please also note that the Sens are retaining 25% of Murray's salary in the trade.
We can probably consider that Jack Campbell will not come back to Toronto and he should sign with the Edmonton Oilers.
As for the Leafs, they trust Matt Murray to (finally) allow them to possibly win a playoff round.
